Dara Waterstreet
Kootenay Wild GM
Dara Waterstreet has a lengthy background as a high school counselor and administrator at J.L. Crowe. She also is very active in the hockey community locally and regionally. She has served as a board member for Greater Trail Minor Hockey for many years and has managed many teams, including the FMAAA Kootenay Wildcats. Her Bachelor of Physical Education degree along with her academic and hockey background make her an invaluable asset to our program and our student-athletes. This is her first year as GM of the Ice and she looks forward to combining FMAAA hockey, JLC Hockey Academy and academics in her professional portfolio. Dara and her husband Derek reside in Fruitvale.
Cary Fisher
Head Coach
Cary Fisher played junior hockey in the BCJHL and Division 1 NCAA for the University of Alaska, Anchorage Seawolves. He began coaching in Anchorage with the Alaska Northstar Club and has coached every year since. Three daughters encouraged him to change his focus from Junior to minor and eventually female hockey. He has coached the Female Triple A team in the Kootenays since 2011. He believes that skill development and fun are the keys to coaching when focusing on minor hockey. Cary and his wife Melanie live and manage Redstone Golf Resort in Rossland.
Simon Wheeldon
Assistant Coach
Simon Wheeldon has a long resume of coaching experience that includes the Nelson Leafs of the KIJHL and Major Midget experience with the Kootenay Ice and the Kootenay Wildcats/Wild. Simon grew up in Nelson, BC and played hockey in the NHL with the New York Rangers, Winnipeg Jets and Washington Jets and Capitals. He played in Europe in both Austria and Germany, has played in two Olympics and five World Championships. Simon lives in Nelson and is an investment advisor with CIBC Wood Gundy.
D’arcy Caron
Assistant Coach
D’arcy Caron has been coaching in the Female Wildcat Hockey program for the past 6 years. D’arcy was born and raised in Trail BC, played rep minor hockey in Greater Trail and played Junior A hockey with the Trail Smoke eaters organization for 4 years. D’arcy works for Fortis and lives in Trail with his wife Pam.
Jamie Weeks
Trainer & Goalie Coach
Jamie Weeks was born and raised in Trail B.C, Jamie Weeks is a Graduate of JL Crowe. Jamie was an original member of the West Kootenay Wildcat female hockey program who captured the first Midget AAA Female Provincial Championship for the area. Jamie, a goaltender, has six years of experience with the female program, four as a player and two as a coach. Jamie is a Red Seal Chef. She lives with her husband Ben in Trail
Melodie Herridge
Trainer & Assistant Manager
Melodie is a valued member of the team staff. As a mother of four hockey players, she brings a caring nature to the team and becomes the team “mom” on the road. She is the go to person when a player needs ANYTHING! Melodie and her husband Arnie run a sawmill on their property in Nakusp, BC.
